Integrating Library Content in Blackboard

If you have any links to online library resources saved, in order to ensure they still will work after July 1, 2021, they may need to be converted to OpenAthens links. How do you know if you need to update your links?

Old EZproxy Links (need to be updated after July 1, 2021):

• Links starts with https://ezproxy.lewisu.edu/login?url=
• Link contains "ezproxy.lewisu.edu" somewhere within the URL

New OpenAthens links:

• Link starts with https://go.openathens.net/redirector/lewisu.edu?url=

Some providers, such as EBSCO, ProQuest, and Gale, are special cases. Find out how to create those links below.

Do you have EZproxy permalinks you need to convert to OpenAthens permalinks?

1. Remove the EZproxy string from the link (will look like "https://ezproxy.lewisu.edu/login?url=")
2. Use the Link Generator below provided by OpenAthens to create your new links.

Please note that this will not work for EBSCO, ProQuest, or Gale resources. They have their own special section below.

Remember to test your links to make sure they work before sharing or saving them.

EBSCO, ProQuest, and Gale do not use the "Athenized" links. Instead, remove any EZproxy prefix and make sure the following strings are added to end of your links:

ProQuest

Gale
