Try using a mind map to help you find keywords and narrow your topic 

A Mind Map is an easy way to help you visualize your topic and see how to narrow it down.

Mind maps also can help you organize your thoughts.

Start with a broad topic, like prison inmates, and then narrow it down into a focused question.  This will help you search for more relevant information that pertains to your topic, and save you time in the searching part of the research process.
