Many know about the designation of June as PRIDE month, when we remember and honor the brave contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community to our country throughout history. But while the month of June has us think about the entire spectrum of gender and sexual diversity created among humans, special days throughout the year ask us to think about specific members of the Community or take actions to continue the work of liberation here on Earth.
One of those days is the International Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31st (read more about it from GLAAD). Another one is GLSEN's Day of NO Silence on April 4th (read more about it from GLSEN). And we have commemorated these days with an interactive display of books and other resources. We hope to offer a digital version of this exhibit here too.
We provide several enby, intersex, or trans influencers to find and follow on Instagram; support their brave existence!
The display obviously shows off some of our physical books on these subjects, but also provides brochures, coloring sheets, and lapels of openly transgender NCAA Women's Swimming Champion Lia Thomas.
If you need or want even more resources than provide here, please visit the newly updated research guide about the LGBTQIA+ Community.
