This web textbook contains information, data tables and computer programs for the study of aerodynamics, gas dynamics, propulsion and aircraft performance. Topics relevant to the undergraduate engineering degree at a university level are covered.
Aviation in the National Parks Service
Did you know the National Park Service uses aviation for many purposes on a daily basis? And that the NPS has a history steeped in aviation…from preserving and protecting some of our most important historical sites focused on aviation to historic aviation "firsts" in the United States? Explore this website and learn more about the rich history and use of aviation in your national parks.
Aviation Digital Data Service (ADDS)
ADDS was developed as a joint effort of NCAR Research Applications Program (RAP), Global Systems Division (GSD) of NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL), and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Aviation Weather Center (AWC).
ADDS is currently maintained at AWC and is funded through the FAA Aviation Weather Research Program (AWRP).
Aviation Weather Training
The MetEd website provides education and training resources to benefit the operational forecaster community, university atmospheric scientists and students, and anyone interested in learning more about meteorology, weather forecasting, and related geoscience topics. MetEd is populated and maintained by the COMET® Program, which is part of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research's (UCAR's) Community Programs (UCP).
National Academies Press - Space and Aeronautics
The National Academies Press (NAP) was created by the National Academy of Sciences to publish the reports of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, operating under a charter granted by the Congress of the United States. The NAP publishes more than 200 books a year on a wide range of topics in science, engineering, and medicine, providing authoritative information on important matters in science and health policy.
National Transportation Library (ROSA P)
Founded as an all-digital library program, NTL’s collections in ROSA P are full-text electronic publications, datasets, and other resources. The repository is also designated as the full-text repository for USDOT-funded research under the USDOT Public Access Plan.
